An emergency warning remains in place for the Perth suburbs of Aubin Grove and Banjup as a bushfire continues to pose a threat after burning for hours.
The Department of Fire and Emergency Services issued an update just after 9pm (midnight AEDT) for northern parts of Aubin Grove and western parts of Banjup, both in Perth’s south.
“You are in danger and need to act immediately to survive. There is a threat to lives and homes,” the DFES says on its website.
The warning is for people in the area bounded by Lyon Road, Gibbs Road, Beenyup Road, Freycinet Circuit and Cape Range Crescent.
“For people in homes on and nearby Prosperity Loop, it’s too late to leave,” the DFES says.
“You need to shelter in your home in a room away from the fire front and make sure you can easily escape.”
